None at all. These lessons are designed for complete beginners. We start from the very first note and build reading, technique and rhythm gently, in music you enjoy.
To start, a piano or a keyboard with enough keys, plus a device for the video call. A weighted or touch-sensitive keyboard is ideal, and I am happy to advise on a good first instrument for any budget.
Most beginners are playing simple, recognisable pieces within the first few weeks. Steady, little-and-often practice is what turns those first steps into real tunes.
Yes. I teach beginners of all ages, from young children through to adults, and every lesson is paced and pitched to the individual student.
